Haven Community Church believes every individual is a child of God and deserves the dignity and respect to dress in the way that makes them feel most complete.
Three out of ten transgender adults live in poverty.
These income gaps are even worse for trans adults who are members of other marginalized communities with 38% of black trans adults and 48% of hispanic trans adults living at or below the poverty line. This makes access to basic gender affirming apparel hard to access for a large portion of the trans and nonbinary community.
Haven’s Gender Affirming Closet will provide the trans community with an affirming wardrobe and an accepting place to try on and experiment with clothing, without fear for safety or judgment.
